Lose Weight Tips: Drink Some More Water

There are a lot of weight loss methods that people try, and some of them are completely bogus.  Stuff you find on an infomercial and even some information you find online just won’t help you to lose weight.  It really just boils down to nutrition and exercise, and if you keep those things in focus, you’ll be able to shed some pounds off of your body.  One nutrition tip that is really helpful is to just drink more water.

A lot of people who are trying to lose weight actually avoid water because of a ridiculous myth, and because they are avoiding water they are actually gaining weight.  The myth is that drinking more water leads to water weight.  The fact is that the opposite of that is what is true.  Not drinking enough water causes your body to store water because it does not know when it will get some more water.  This is a survival instinct and is great if you are stuck on an island, but it is bad if you’re trying to lose weight.

The more water that you drink on a consistent basis, will tell your body that it does not need to store water because it will continue to get it.  This allows your body to release the stored up water weight which directly shows up on the scale.  Water is also good because it keeps your body properly hydrated and it gives you natural energy.  You no longer need to deal with the constant ups and downs with energy drinks and coffee.

So, how much water should you actually be drinking each day?  To figure that out, you’ll take your weight (in pounds), and divide that by two.  That is how many ounces of water you should drink each day.  If you weight 250 pounds, then you should drink 125 ounces of water every single day.  Yes, you will be peeing a lot at first, but your body adjusts after about a week and you will be peeing the normal amount, and losing weight as well.
